Knapsac Rental Agreement

 

Condition of books

Knapsac Textbook Rental guarantees that all texts rented are correct according to your order and have passed inspection prior to being placed in circulation. The books you receive may be hardback or paperback at the discretion of Knapsac Textbook Rental and depending on availability from our suppliers at the time of rental. Books may also be international or instructor’s editions if it is identical to the student version save notes to the instructor. Text supplements (i.e. access codes, CD ROMs, workbooks) are not guaranteed to come with your selected books in that most materials are reserved for one-time use.

 

Ownership

All texts rented from Knapsac Textbook Rental are the sole property of Knapsac Textbook Rentals and its partners. At no time during the rental period does the renter obtain ownership of the books unless the renter purchases the book according to our service policy, nor should the books rented from Knapsac Textbook Rental be “re-rented” or subleased.

 

Maintenance and Care of Textbooks

You, the renter, agree to keep textbooks in an acceptable used condition. Knapsac is liable and responsible for the condition of rented textbooks only until the renter receives them. At the time of receipt, you, the renter, take full responsibility for the textbook. If the textbook is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond reusable condition (cover ripped off, pages torn out, water damage, etc) the renter will be charged full value for the textbook.

 

Right to Cancel Orders

Knapsac Textbook Rental retains the right to cancel or refuse orders that results from an error in pricing due to typographical errors or any other incorrect information.

 

Refund and Return Policy

Returns due to a mistake by Knapsac will be our full responsibility and will be taken care of at no cost to the renter. We accept returns within the first 10 days (including weekends) of a rental term. However, Renters are responsible for shipping costs. No refunds will be issued to books returned after 10 days. All refunds will be issued via the credit/debit card used to pay for the original rental. Upon reciept of returned items to Knapsac office.

 

Liability

Knapsac Textbook rental shall not be held responsible for any damages, either physical or emotional, tangible or intangible, incurred beyond the rental price of the textbook. Books which are lost in transit will be replaced at no extra charge; however, Knapsac shall not be held liable for poor performance in school or any other tort stemming from the rental of your textbooks.

 

Agreement to Return Books

You agree to return rented items to Knapsac Textbook Rental/Knapsac Affiliates, on or before the last day of your rental period via media mail. Books that are not returned at this time will be considered “purchased”, and the renter will be notified via email that their card will be charged for the purchase of their book(s). The renter will have 3 (three) days to respond to the email and resolve the return with our customer service team. If no attempt is made within 3 (three) days to dispute the return status or the dispute is denied, the renter's credit/debit card will be charged the difference between the rental price already paid and the value of the textbook.

Buying your Books

If you’ve fallen in love with your books and would like to keep them, please call email admin@knapsac.com with subject title “BUY MY BOOKS”. You will receive and invoice via email within 48 hours. (Your purchase price will be the retail value of the book minus what you already paid in rental fees). Click on the “Pay Now” button and the bottom of the page, complete the checkout prompts, and you will receive a confirmation email.

 

 

 

Terms of Use

This website is intended for use by students interested in renting textbooks, learning about Knapsac Textbook Rental and its processes. All graphics (including our logo) and text found on this site is the intellectual property of Knapsac Textbook Rental, LLC and is protected by trademark and copyright laws. Any use of this site for purposes other than those specified above is prohibited.

The quoted rental prices do not become contractually binding until the renter completes the checkout process and accepts the rental agreement. We withhold the right to change at any moment depending on information from our suppliers. Knapsac.com does not guarantee rental prices will be the same for any item that is not rented at the time a quote was generated and item was placed in the shopping cart.

By registering with Knapsac.com, you allow Knapsac.com to communicate directly to you via email regarding rental return reminders, account status updates, coupon offers, scholarships, share news, etc. (Don’t worry we hate spam as much as you do, we just want to keep you in the loop for the best deals and important information about your rental).

Knapsac reserves the right to change or modify this site, our terms of use, service policy, privacy policy, or rental agreement at any time without any notification.

Knapsac shall not be held liable in any form for damages of any kind stemming from the use or nonuse of this site.

Surveys, Contests, Testimonials

Occasionally our site may request information in the form of surveys, contests, or testimonials. You may choose whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested will include contact information (as supplied to the site during registration) and supplementary information on your opinions, feedback, testimonials, etc. Contact information will be used to notify winners in the event of a contest. Don’t worry we do not post any personal information. If the survey or contest has a sponsor then we will share information given by entrants with the sponsor.

Payment Processing

To process payments online Paypal (our external payment provider) requires the billing address for the credit card used. This is all done on a secure Paypal server using SSL (secure sockets layer) technology. Customer Names and Shipping Addresses

Knapsac.com may use third party providers to package and deliver books to its customers. Customer names and shipping addresses are shared with our suppliers and shipping providers in order to complete the delivery process.  


We use your e-mail address to communicate order information to you and to provide you with other communications or information that you have requested from Knapsac.com.

Legal Requests
We may share information with governmental agencies or other companies assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; or, (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or, (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place. The information is not provided to these companies for marketing purposes.


"Refer a Friend" Services
If you choose to use the Tell A Friend service, provided by Knapsac.com, we will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Knapsac stores this information for verification purposes and to track the success of our referral program. We do not store, rent or sell these e-mail addresses. Your friend may contact us at admin@knapsac.com to request that we remove their information.


Control of Your Password

Do not disclose your Knapsac.com password to any third parties nor share it with any third parties. If you lose control of your password, you may lose control over the security of your personally identifiable information and may be subject to legally binding actions taken on your behalf.


Reviewing and Changing Your Personally Identifiable Information
You can change the information you submitted during registration at any time by visiting the login page on the site.


Security
In order to process and protect your credit card details, our payment provider, Paypal.com uses SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption. The secure server is hosted by Paypal.com and not Knapsac.com. We follow industry standards to protect your personal information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage, is 100% secure.  Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
